Eugene Piano Academy
St. Eugene, OR 97401
Our full day music camps offer students the ultimate music experience by combining music, training with age-appropriate workshops, and craft activities. Previous experience is not necessary to join either camp, however, children with a background in music will also benefit from the camps as the performance repertoire will be tailored to each student's ability. Activities will include segments on music instruction, music appreciation, workshops with visiting musicians, and crafts - all leading to a final performance at the end of the week, available for friends and family. Performances will be held at the Academy at 3:15pm on the last day of each camp. Friends and family are invited to join!
Each day the group will also take walking field trips (weather permitting) to picnic and have some free time. Locations include the Washington Jefferson Park, Skinner Butte Park, Hult Center, EWeb Fountain and Park Blocks on Oak. During our final day, the group will take a trip to the nearby Red Wagon Creamery to reward their efforts with a scoop of ice-cream or sherbet (included in materials cost).
The Oregon Bach Festival Camp (OBF Camp) will be similar to the format of Camps Allegro/Vivace but will differ by being dedicated to Bach (and all things related!), taking 1-2 trips to free concerts at the Oregon Bach Festival, and playing his music for our final concert!
*Please pack a snack and lunch (including a drink) for each day of camp.
The Harmony Road Music Course has evolved from a lifetime of musical involvement with children. Harmony Road founder, writer and composer, Jan Keyser, developed the first courses in 1981 and has continued to provide high quality, research based curriculumʼs to fill the needs of young students and their families in her studio. Jan continues to research and develop music learning programs, advocate for early childhood music, train instructors, and present at international and domestic venues.
This method is an exciting, comprehensive music program, designed to help children discover the world of music through motivating materials and activities which develop the whole child. Hearing... feeling... moving... singing... creating... sharing... reading... and playing music... children absorb and store musical patterns and concepts for enjoyment and growth in all of their musical endeavors.Parent involvement is a key factor in student success. The Harmony Road Program guides Parents or caregivers in ways to keep the family in a musical “mode” at home. Harmony Road Courses are specifically designed for each age group.
